You Can Do It! Education Train-the-Trainer Professional Learning Program 2009

We are pleased to again offer the opportunity for schools to participate in the highly successful You Can Do It! Education (YCDI) professional learning program.
  • Two representatives of your staff can be trained to support your school through professional learning of administrators and colleagues in the effective implementation of YCDI.
  • After three days  of training, representatives will be able to present to school personnel the range of school-wide “core practices” that have been found to be necessary to positively impact student social and emotional learning and a range of educational outcomes.
  • Staff participating in all three days of the program will gain certification to qualify as YCDI trainers at their school; They will be able to conduct training with the aid of all relevant PowerPoint presentations and handouts as discussed at the workshop.
  • Schools will be able to rely on the expertise of their own staff to guide the process of implementation through school-based learning;
  • Throughout the year administrators, teachers and parents will become “up-skilled” in supporting the social and emotional learning of students:
  • Students’ social and emotional skills will be strengthened and improvements in approach to leaning, behaviour and well-being will be observed;
  • The use of YCDI will aide in the development and implementation of your “School Action Plan for Student Health and Wellbeing".

New Research Provides Strong Evidence that YCDI Improves the Resilience of "At Risk" Students

Latest research of Michael Bernard to be reported at the Australian Psychological Society's Annual Conference being held in Hobart this September, reveals that students with behavioural, social, emotional and achievement problems can have their resilience strengthened through the use of weekly lessons from YCDI's Program Achieve social-emotional learning curricula ("Resilience") that explicitly teach the ABC's of self-management of emotions and behaviour.
